A UX design process that puts your users first, from research to launch.

UX design process

Good UX design is not about adding more. It is about removing friction, so visitors find what they need quickly and do what they came to do and leave with the right impression of your brand.

Most websites are designed for the people who commission them, not the people who use them. Walk into any company and you will find strong opinions about the website. The visitor is rarely in the room. We design from the visitor’s side instead. Our UX design process starts with research, exploring who your users are, what they are trying to do and where existing sites get in their way. Every decision after that follows from what we have learned, rather than from instinct or visual preference.

The result is a site that is intuitive to navigate, structured around real user behaviour and built to perform on the metrics that matter to your business.

Our UX design process

User research

Every project starts by understanding the people who will actually use your site, through analytics review and competitor analysis.

Information architecture

Content and functionality are mapped into a hierarchy that matches how your users actually think.

Wireframing

Layout, content and flow get sketched out simply first, before anyone starts thinking about how the page should look.

Prototyping

Interactive prototypes let you click through the experience and spot the problems before web development begins.

Your questions answered

What is UX design?

UX design (short for user experience design) is what makes a website easy to use and clear to understand. It is the difference between someone landing on a page and instantly knowing what to do, or sitting there clicking around like they missed something obvious.

It is built from research, structure, navigation, content flow and testing, but in practice it shows up in small things like whether a form feels quick or like a chore, or whether a menu makes sense without thinking twice. When it works, people don’t notice it. They just finish what they came for and leave without friction.

What is the difference between UX and UI design?

UX is about how a site works. UI is about how it looks. UX design decides what goes where, how people move through the site, and whether each step feels easy or confusing. UI design is the surface layer: colours, fonts, buttons and the overall look of the pages.

What does a UX audit involve?

A UX audit is a detailed check of how your website works for real people using it. It looks for where users get stuck, why they leave without taking action and what parts of the site are quietly hurting performance. You get a report that points out the problems and shows what to fix first. For sites that are clearly underperforming, an audit is often a useful first step before thinking about a full website redesign.

How long does the UX design process take?

A UX design project depends on the size and complexity of the website. Smaller sites move quickly, while larger projects with more features or different user groups take longer. The timeline is usually agreed once the scope is clear, so it reflects what the project actually needs rather than a set number of weeks.

When should I invest in UX design?

Before you commit to a redesign, not after. One of the most expensive mistakes businesses make is finishing the design and build, then realising the site is hard for people to use. UX work done at the start helps catch those problems early and saves a lot of money fixing them later.
