Glossary: Content Management Systems

What is a CMS (Content Management System)?

A Content Management System is a framework that allows users to control, update, and alter information on a website without having to go into the code or access their server via FTP. It makes adding images, videos and text to your site much quicker and simpler. Many of the popular content management systems such as Joomla And WordPress have user friendly interfaces that offer drag and drop uploading of content. A CMS is a great way for a client to have more control over their website as many everyday tasks can be completed after just a few minutes of training and without any prior web development knowledge.
