Designers are using one page websites to arrive at innovative ways to flow text and graphics vertically across the page. One page websites are growing in popularity. This format is only suitable for web sites with a limited amount of content.

Take a look at this one page web site we’ve designed for FiftyFifty Post Production www.fiftyfiftypost.com. FiftyFifty required a web site with high visual impact.

Make sure to follow these criteria when designing your own one-page web site:

Focus on one topic
If you want to design a single page website, the focus should be on one topic. There is only one page of space to make your point to the visitor. Make sure that the design of the single page website is as simple as possible and don’t try to put too much content on the page.

Use different sizes of fonts to attract the visitor to the key points of the page
When the visitor sees your own designed single page website they will obviously been attract by the biggest size of fonts. Be aware of this. Use also bright colouring or strong design elements to focus on the key aspects of the single page.

Be clear when you link the visitor to another website
Sometimes you want to redirect the visitor to another website, for example to do a payment, warn the visitors so they aren’t surprised.

Use horizontal scrolling
When you use horizontal scrolling in your single page web design, you can easily double the content without overwhelming the visitor.
