Feature on Artists and Illustrators
Our resident illustrator Katy has recently been working on some fantastic Christmas themed work, producing illustrations to accompany Clement C Moore’s book The Night Before Christmas.
The book features a three dimensional pop up calendar at that back, Katy was required to produce illustrations that would fit a template provided by a paper engineer.
“I was given a blank 3D dummy model so I roughly pencilled my ideas straight onto that first…I found the floor to be the most difficult to get right. It had to look interesting without being distracting”
Katy used a combination of traditional pencil drawings, watercolours and photoshop to bring the poems and versus to life.
“I was lucky to have complete creative freedom throughout the project and the feedback was positive”
